Day 7

The hotel that we stayed at was only a few blocks from the building that the Concordia Branch meets at so it took all of five minutes to drive to church from the hotel. After church we drove to Independence, MO to go to the Visitors Center. This Visitors Center was pretty cool. It had a replicas of a log cabin and a printing press inside.
Me and Deb at the Independence Visitors Center
We then went to Liberty Jail.

This flower was growing outside the jail, I thought it was pretty
Liberty Jail was pretty neat. Well the jail isn't there anymore but there is a life sized replica. The walls were 4 foot thick, 2 foot of stone 1 1/2 foot of wood with loose stones in between. A prisoner would not have been able to reach from inside the jail to the outerwall.

This is the picture of the replica of the jail

  2. Alicia and I were able to go to the Liberty and Independance late last year. It was great! You could really feel the spirit. I am looking forward to your next entry, to see if you made it out to Adam-Ondi Ahman. Did you see the blog entries that Alicia and I posted about our trip?

  3. We did get to Adam-ondi-ahman and it looked like it is much prettier in the Fall than in the Spring.
